Happy Holidays, my dears!!!

*Hey, you!!! Did you buy presents?!

Ukrainian girl in Malaysia ;)

Ok... I am not regular blogger at all, but some people (I mean tetyana mkhl;) is forcing me to share a bit my Malaysian XP.

So few things about Malaysia:

1. Firts impression was -'OMG I cannot breathe here!' Yeah, the air is so much humid that the feeling was that I am breathing hot water! Especially taught it was in the places where Malaysian people prepare food - it was even hotter there, as lots of them prepared food on open fire and meals are extremely spicy so there I was actually breathing HOT SPICY WATER!
2. And just few secs after my arrival I had one more reason that made me even harder to breathe - from the windows of KLIA express (the train that took me from the airport to Kuala-Lumpur) I saw the small part of that country - honestly it was love from the first sight! I felt myself as one of the characters of Disney's Jungle Book.

3. Another thing which I noticed about Malaysia is that it's extremely diverse and tolerant. On one street there can be Moslim woman with all her body covered by traditional clothes, Buddist monk and European student and nobody really cares what color of skin you have, what is your nationality or religion, nobody stares at you or tries to make a picture ! That made me feel very comfortable. As long as you speak English you'll feel yourself as at home in Malaysia!

4. One more really memorable moment: one day I was walking on the Petalang street in KL with some of the facis and I saw a woman. She was near 35 I suppose, not really beautiful, all her body was covered, you could see only her face and hands, she was just standing and watching people. She had amazing eyes and I had a feeling that she is burning me with her look. I stopped near her and Alex - faci from China told me that she was prostitute... I was shocked. That was different from Ukraine when such kind of women stand on the roads, half naked, and stop cars that are driving nearby.

MC free time

So, what we do when we have free time???
from last week half of MC team is watching "Doctor House" :)) It's Funny, as two year ago MC team was crazy about "Lost", and we day by day started to watch D. House.
Everything started with Luibas, then was me and now Kate :)) today Lara watched first episode :))
Sasha, Basnya and Rostya, what about you???

Ahh some more up-dates, Lara just came back from Malaysia where she were faci on their AP X summit and brought really interested books : I took Paulo Coellio "Brida", - those who likes reading probably already read this book, in MC you don't have so much time for reading :)) and Lara took to read "Word is Flat", hope she reads it quickly, as I'm already dreaming about this book.
If you still didn't read those books, or watch D House, I advise you to try :)))

Just random...

Hm... I didn't post here for a long time. So it's time to improve myself :)

It will be some random post, i don't want to dedicate it to smth. Just random thoughts.

This quarter was full of emotions, experience and feelings. New Horizons were smth challenging for me and for others too. And actually now the third part of december passed so very soon we will celebrate half of our term! And also we're waiting for desirable winter holidays!

I'm sure the next half of our year will be even more interesting and full of everything.

Sooooo random post requires random photos:) So there are photos made last and this weeks. Enjoy!

And of coz! ATTENTION!!! Tomorrow our great team mate, our Tetyana will have a birthday! So everybody are welcome to congratulate this wonderful person!

For now that's all...

Кружок юных "ботанов"

Yes, it's really true. Young "botany" occupied our MC house! Really hard period started - studying... Ugly and boring but sometimes usefull

I'll start from my self. As i'm still a student i should study sometimes at least. Till Monday i should prepare my diploma (actually "kursovaya") from management of organization. It has great topic: "Strategical management of marketing trade politics" (i hope that translated it correctly:)

Than goes ... Tanya. She becomes crazy spanish woman. Yeah, spanish - she wants to study spanish and the whole MC team with her. Now we know that "la mujer es gorda" means "fat woman":)

Than Sashas' order. He is writing ... articles. What and why - we don't know. But know for sure that he is also "botan".

And finaly Lara! This incredible woman studies how to sells... Indian people! "Boryus, do you want to take Indians for internship? they're so cool! They have great XP!"

Katya is also "botan" but today she didn't study.

Only Rostik and Nastya are happy! Good for them!

WARNING! Animal in the house!

Here i am:) Finally, i'm writing something about my MC life on our MC blog. It's bit strange... I'm Communications responsible but didn't write here before...But i really want to break this tradition.

We are changing all the time... And me too. I spend one week in trips around Ukraine. Hope, some day I'll write about it on our blog... But for now I want to write about little changes in our life. Since yesterday we have new team mate in our house - we have a cat. It (actually she) will live for a week till Katya Byelova (her owner) will come to Ukraine from the trip.

I like cats very much as well as other my mates. And we were waiting for this beautiful kitten - Katya (is it funny that cat is owners namesake?:) She came to us with her own plates, food and even toilet... Really equiped.

Katya is really strange. First day she was afraid of everything, she hide behind the wardrobe in our office room, did not eat anything, growl on us (especially on Lara:), spent whole night under Sasha's bed. Poor animal.

Fortunatelly today she was more friendly, she was not afraid of us and our house any more. Just look on photos!
My dear Bashnya

Kayt'ka herself

Kisyulechka and Sashulechka

Kat'ka loves coffee

Me and Katya

One more interesting detail - Katya already found a boyfriend. This is cat of our neighbors. He was sitiing on the windowsill outside our house and looking on Katya in the kitchen. Unfortunatelly i did make this funny photo:(

Katya, we will miss you so much after this time!

Once upon a time I was in Rivne...

The times of loneliness at the MC appartment and office are coming to the end, and finally just in some more days we will be ALL together, sitting in the old usual working atmosphere, but on the first times probably chating-sharing-remembering these weeks of travelling, discoveries, memories of meetings with new people that each of us is bringing back to Kyiv after the row of the LC visits and participation at LICs. For sure for everyone these trips were unique and specific, exciting and tiring, unpredicttable and for sure unforgattable and motivational to return back here and start to work with new forces and energy!!!!
I was lucky to be in Rivne during the last weekend and chair and facilitate there the Local Induction Conference and run LC visit. It's so pleasant to see the committement and personal desire just of a few people - actually 3 strong personalities from EB - to make things happen!!! And even if sometimes things are going not in the best way, seeing them and hearing there questions - you feel the desire to do your best to support them. And to encourage as much people as possible to do the same with you!
There is a pool of young talented people that can build up a growing LC in the city of Rivne! The time is coming to make AIESEC their future and make them the future of AIESEC in Rivne... Of course the challenges are all around, and even more job should be done after the visit, now- that's the show-time when we have no option and possibility to make any mistake... 'cos we have the greatest opportunities and new horizons in front, and the most important thing that we have- not so much- but still these are interested and motivated people to make these happen:
The time is running, the memories are staying... The results to be performed and goals achieved are knocking in our doors:))) That's our turn to stand up and make an effort to open these doors NOW!!!

...Prosto ya zhyla v odnomu duzhe fajnomu LC... :)

The time of a few people staying home in the house... The time of total mess within cooking teams... The time of constant needed tickets absence... The time of MC members in the trains all around the country... The time of poor AIESECers catching up us at 3.. 4.. 5.. am on the stations...
The time of LC visits has come!!!

All those who have ever been or will ever be in the MC team would for sure support my words: these are definitely the special times for the MC member. When you touch the LC reality, when you feel yourself kind of "back in time". When a great bunch of challenges, decisions, initiatives, emotions, achievements and other things which seem to be so crucial, urgent and essential at the moment, soars all over the LC EB team expecting for the only right decisions to be taken by leadership body... This time I was again the first one from our team to start with the visits. Thank you Boryusik for waiting me already at 5.25 near that board..)) This is our second round of the visits and the first one when we go to Lcs without previous MC coach. However informed and prepared to the visit you are you never know what to expect from the LC reality and people who shape it. You just go and face the atmosphere, see the impact of your decision once made, the result of materials released and touch a real AIESEC life on local level. Thank you my dear Fajne LC for a warm host :) For jokes and laugh, for common work and individual meetings, for legislation and Kryivka :)) I believe if you work out your weaknesses and reinforce your strengths you have everything to rock this year and I sincerely wish you to do that.
I'm sure you will ;)

Already looking forward to meeting Franyk and Uzhhorod...

feedback session

To days ago we had MC day, and the culmination of it ... was feedback session.
To be frank here, I don't really like those sessions, hmm and I realized why, as all the time when people wants to tell you something that you need to improve, they firstly start to invent a lot of good thing about you, and really often it looks insincere, so this time I was expecting the same.
And, thanks God I was mistaken, those 3 hours was so amazing, with lots of new things, with something that I needed to know. And you know it united as even more after that, we started to speak with each other more, to help each other more and to listen :) maybe it's just my point of view, a MC what do you think?

Happy to be in such TEAM :)

august shortly :)

Haven't written for long time?
Yes, well mostly it because of being away for almost a month. So, wonder what was happening with us during August?
Our trips started from TTT in Donetsk, where me, Katya were faci, Bashnya chair and Lyuba delegate.
We had cool experience, amazing sessions and nice time spent together with our future trainers :) Also we were amazed by the OC preparation, # of in kind raised etc, thank you LC Donetsk and specially ER people (Artem and Vitalik) for working hard during all summer.
After that we had ZagnibedCo, - for those who don't know it's unofficial name of SellCo, as the only faci there was` our lovely Sasha :) How it was??? well I was not there, so you are welcome to write comments and share some thoughts about this meeting :)
And finally.... 5 of us went to Brazil.......
get to know more about our adventures in our next posts....

Why are you here??

During the weekend, celebrating, resting , speaking and thinking, some questions came to my mind , why I'm here? Why other people here? Why we, being 21 -24 came to one place, one house, enjoying work that seems to our friends "lost time", still we are here, far from our homes, not able to see family, working together, living together, eating together...
Why?
Is that about development? Maybe, or because of spirit, uniqueness of AIESEC?
Don't think that i feel bad right now writing this post, I enjoy my life here, but it's just a question I cannot give the answer for now ...

and Why are you here??

Benefits of being Muza

Some time ago I discovered myself in interesting situation or it's better to say strange state - I became a Muza. For me it means a lot as being Muza gives you certain set of benefits.
So what does it mean to be Muza:
  1. You will not have to cook, your cooking pair will cook for you as Muza 'should inspire - not work'.
  2. You'll not be allowed to throw away trash from the bin - this is also not job for Muza.
  3. You will recieve compliments each day.
  4. While your team mate will work you'll just have to stare at him working and 'inspire' him to work.
  5. You will be not allowed to carry bags from the shop.
  6. You will not be allowed to say something bad/unpleasant/critical about yourself - Muzas should love themselves.
  7. You'll enjoy nice talks and crazy jokes each day.
And all of this is possible for my to my dear cooking pair - thanks Sashka!:)

18 hours of unforgettable dreams, yes Kate??

Daily thoughts and sharing

It seems that everything slowly comes on it's places and we are already totally in the MC mood, schedule or way - no matter how to call this, style of life. And from day to day we are starting to enjoy it more and more (at least this is for sure like this for me;))!
And what makes me even more happy and excited is that we start more and more to enjoy not only working, but staying together:) (that's my own personal feeling!) How this is reflected? I'm dreaming after the whole day spent in the city to come HOME (MC house) and have a talk just about nothing with someone from the MC team, I can't spend the day without signing a song loud with others "professional" signers of our team, and what is the most important and significant, that describes all the positive changes I face right now is that I can't sleep latter then 9:30, even at the weekends!!! What really tells a lot!))
Today was one more, from one side ordinary, from the other - unique day of our MC term: we've received visas to Brazil!!!, we've been to the opening to LDS, we've faced some challenges with some potential partners, we've continued our communication and negotiation with all the countries that can somehow contribute to our X goals realization and many many other daily moments that are shaping our experience day by day!..
That's why - just looking forward what special next day will bring to us;)...

The week to the past

I can truly say that last week was an amazing opportunity for all of us to touch our past.

Everything started on Monday, where in the evening we had meeting with key alumni group of AIESEC in Ukraine. Different, with different stories to be told, but still committed to AIESEC. Introducing them self, sharing their AIESEC xp, for me it was amazing time of harmony with the past, even it was just for 10 years ago.

Next day, we had guest, other great alumni and not just of AIESEC in Ukraine, Oksana Arhypchuk, - MCP Jordan 07-08, spend an evening with us, well mostly with Basnya, I guess sharing her own XP of being MCP.

Moving to Thursday, Kate invited Maryna Silchenko, Afrika GN board 07-08. Yep, nice talks with her, asking questions, letting XP of other person to be shared with us. Story after story how to live in completely different country, even in two of them, during such talks you understand how easy everything is here, you know everything you need, just go and win…

Friday, last working day, and probably one of the youngest alumni, - Natalya Scheglova, - VP PR and Branding, AIESEC Franik. I was happy to see her, and talk at least those couple of minutes I had. I felt connection to my city, to LC I bourn with J)

Besides those people, we also, had amazing evening with Kiev EB and hmmm almost alumni, Vasya Starikov (by the way he is on our kitchen right now playing guitar with Sasha).

Stay with our blog to get fresh information about life in House #13 …

full and happy!!!

Look at this happy faces;))) And that's all thanx to Lara for the delicious lunch!!!

P.S. And by the way today we are to have team dinner somewhere in the pizza house!!!

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Hm:) One more strange thing - i've made the pervious post and it's written that it was Kate Yermak. No we have not only Katia Zagnibeda, Sasha Yermak but also one more Kate Yermak:)
Today was a special day, it's better to say special evening. Yesterday we've just came back from the FMs - conference that is so influencing our future, future of AIESEC Ukraine and of course my personal future. Conference which as for me associates with something very new - new team, new AIESECers, new goals, new plans.
And just 1 day after facing this future I had an opportunity to face my past. Oksana Arkhypchuk - alumna of AIESEC in Lviv, MCP of Jordan 07/08 and at the same time my first LCP and person who recruited me to AIESEC, came to visit us at MC house. I had a feeling that for few minutes I came back to past - when 4 years ago I was sitting at LCM and listening to her with huge admiration. I almost forgot this feeling of admiration and excitement that you have when you are newbie and you are making your first steps in AIESEC. Probably that's one of the best feelings that I've experienced in AIESEC - wish not to LEAD, but to FOLLOW.
In this organization there will be always people better than you and that's the thing i love in AIESEC.

Post-conference mood

And again wake-up at 8 a.m. You enter working room aka office and see all of us deep in work. It was a lot of it during FMs preparation, it is a lot of it now, when everything passed soooo quickly, that right now it is even hard to believe we've spent 3 days out of the ordinary working atmosphere!!!
I don't know who do the others feel and what mood drives the rest to wake up and sit in front of one's laptop, but I've got my portion of DRIVING energy and motivation from AIESEC UA members - excited, motivated and ready to speed up... At least I really believe that it is so and it can't be any other way, just like this!!!
Wishing us to keep on moving, and enjoy every minute)))
To be continued...

Meeting with alumni

It’s already a tradition to invite some alumni to our MC house, however this time it was a bit different meting, not just fun but starting with serious work, - Discussions, feedbacks and than having introduction conversation MC to alumni J

Before the meeting I was scared what should I expect from people I so somewhere from the stage but never even spoke to. Having transition with Olya, she gave notice about work with key alumni work, - that it maybe not so easy, as it was to work on local level.

So, yesterday first meeting, - discussions around LDS alumni meeting agenda, FM agenda, feedbacks, talks, jokes. Completely satisfied and happy that I’ve choose to take this direction to work in J

Boba's bye bye

Yesterday we had small party at MC house, well at least it suppose to be small and finish till 12:00, however it finished around 2 a.m , buys from old MC team stayed to sleep at our house.
We were celebrating the final departure of Boba to The Netherlands.
A lot of bear, vodka, no food and some drink from Rostik.
Living in one house with a lot of people makes your evenings much more interesting that you would live at home along, you don't need to go somewhere to have fun, to meet friends, - everything you need is living with you, and rest can be bought at the super market on next street. + We have kind a tradition to invite some people to us, this weekend we will have barbecue with our alumni.

keep enjoying my life here :)

First chairing experience, I’ve got chairing LCC in Kiev… The conference it self was quite different I’m used to have. Firstly I have never been to LCCs of some other LCs, secondly, I had lots of random conversations with interns (they came just the same day LCC happened), alumni, my teammates.

Being in MC you start to realize the difference between LCs, the uniqueness of each entity, of each city. The things which so easily working in your LC may be completely different in other city. I was leading legislation meeting, a bit different, but nice to know how it can be. It makes you more flexible, more experienced. I’ve met one girl that was applying for alumni status, Yulia Shylo, - at Adaptation Camp 2006, - I was her first faci,… now, 2 years letter, at her last conference being active member, - I was a chair, - strange how things, actions, people can be connected.

I don’t remember last time, - I had so many conversations at one day, - I was catching up people asking, listening, again asking, and it made me happy and connected. Trough those hours I understood how much afford I need to pay at my networking abilities, as well as general erudition at what is happening in the world, - remember, one day Legka told me how she is preparing to each meeting with friends in Canada, -watching TV, reading news etc. I was surprised by that, now I realize how much it needed to start up conversations that matter.

Speaking about my MC work, I still don’t have lap top, that makes me a bit sad, - that I cannot normally work and will need to ketch up my tasks quickly, from other hand It makes me more affective, - having those couple hours of being at the computer, I manage to finish everything before deadlines and go to bed normally at 11 p.m or at lest not working at night.

Keep on discovering my Self

From MC office

mooving

So, I’ve started the process of moving to My new house. A bit of news from my first weekend with lovely team.
This weekend I spend in our house, where Sasha was re-building our furniture and putting it from 1st floor to the second, - I still cannot imagine where he takes so much power to bring all those heavy tuff by him self. – Gerakl J))
I will live with Kate Iermak – MC VP TM, we already started to dream about what we can buy and bring to our room to make it more comfortable. In the next room our dear Basnya with Nafanya and Lyubas will live, - they have really big and comfortable bed J) Lucky.
Our boys as strong part of our Team will sleep on the first floor, to protect us, they have Hugh room, - that is the rest room for us as well J))We made first shopping, and bought 13 items in the Store “Eveything for 3 grn” – thanks to Basnya and Lara

I’ve just backed from whole week visits to my Local Committees.
Could I imagine couple years ago, that it will be so obvious to spend 1 week in the train traveling from one city to another.
My destination was: Franik-Ternopil-Simferopol-Sevastopol-Simferopol-Znamyanka-Kirovograd-Donetsk-Simferopol-Kyiv-Franik J

The visits it self were a challenge for me, from one side because of being along, except Donetsk, from other side seeing totally different reality u used to.
The main thought that came out of those coaching visits: Even being one AIESEC country we really closed to each other, we don’t know what is happening in each LC, we are not sharing things that are working in our LCs.
But going deeply into details, I enjoyed this week really much, each LC was prepared to the visit, asking questions, talking and sharing. I had good reception in Sevastopol, - reminding to my self wonderful time I’ve spend there couple years ago. It was a pity that I spend in Donetsk just 1 day, hope to get more for next visit. My last visit was AIESEC in Simferopol, - I felt really needed and excepted there, it what I like the most in AIESEC.
so MC term in going to start soon.....
